Manta Network Joins The BNB Chain Zero2Hero As a Bounty Provider

Manta Network, the fastest ZK Layer 1 protocol focused on on-chain privacy, is pleased to join the BNB Hackathon Program, Zero2Hero, as a Bounty Provider. Manta Network will offer various bounties for projects building applications using zkSBTs and verifiable, private credentials through mobile applications.
The Zero2Hero Hackathon
The Zero2Hero Hackathon is open and accepting applicants until April 16, 2023. We encourage any developers looking to explore the BNB Chain ecosystem and build with Manta Network’s zkSBTs to apply. The hackathon takes place from April 17, 2023 to May 14, 2023:
- Week 1 to 3 are focused on building (including workshops);
- Week 4 is the project submission;
- Multiple tracks with bounties, including Manta Network’s bounty, are available;
- Winners share the prize pool;
- Track winners receive tickets to the Incubator.
Manta’s zkSBTs at Zero2Hero
To bring privacy to web3, more decentralized asset classes need to be supported, namely, NFTs and SBTs. Manta Network is bringing privacy-preservation support to non-fungible cryptoassets using Manta Network’s ZK technology. These assets can be minted through its upcoming platform, the NFT Private Offering (NPO).

We specifically designed the implementation of zero knowledge to be both developer-friendly as well as user-friendly, which is perfect for exploring new ideas that can take Web3 to the next level. Manta Network will evaluate all submitted projects’ demos, the open source GitHub repository, appropriate documentation on the basic principles of the system design, a quick start guide, and other relevant details. The final three bounty winners will be determined by four criteria: innovation, completion, code quality, and technical contribution. The Golden Prize will have $3000, and two Silver Prizes will have $1000 each.
More About zkSBTs
zkSBTs cannot be linked to identities through public blockchain explorers to protect users’ privacy. In addition, each zkSBT has another key technology developed by Manta: the Proof Keys. The Proof Key is a technology that allows zkSBTs to be authenticated through mobile applications without needing a wallet signature or verification, making it easy for mobile developers to integrate Manta’s zkSBT directly into their applications.
Use-case examples of zkSBTs that can be explored in the Zero2Hero program:
- Profile pictures (through the metadata) in a privacy-preserving manner, including photos or AI-generated images;
- On-chain transactions or crypto assets without the need to disclose address information;
- In-game items that users have purchased on-chain;
- Decentralized social graph information that does not link user identity or contain linkages between social identities.
Deploying Manta zkSBT does not require in-depth technical knowledge or understanding of cryptography or ZK technology. Manta Network has abstracted this complexity and delivered a simple experience for any developer to understand and use zkSBTs. To launch zkSBT, the developers can utilize the SBT SDK, an extension of the MantaPay SDK that includes custom logic such as a pre-charge step for reserving SBT asset IDs, and allowing users to mint SBTs by providing metadata. Developers should use the SBT SDK to enable user-minting of zkSBTs, as the Signer needs to generate the TransferPost containing ZKP.
