Manta Network Partners with Ultiverse to Launch zkSBT: zkGuardians

Manta Network, the fastest zero-knowledge layer one protocol focused on on-chain privacy, is pleased to announce a partnership with Ultiverse, a metaverse platform that offers a variety of user experiences, to launch its zkSBT for the Ultiverse community. Through this partnership, Manta Network will provide Ultiverse community members with the ability to mint zkGuardians, which are private soul-bound tokens (zkSBTs) that allow users to verify their real identities without compromising any information or data leakage about their on-chain activity.
zkGuardians (and zkSBTs in general) are a key part of Manta Network’s vision for a more private and secure Web3. By providing users with a way to verify their identities without revealing their wallet addresses, zkGuardians help to protect users from privacy attacks and fraud. Additionally, zkGuardians can be used to access a variety of Manta Network ecosystem projects, including MantaPay, Manta Wallet, and NPO.

The Existing On-Chain Identity Problem
With the current state of public blockchains, every on-chain action is recorded, immutable, and fully transparent. While this transparency was originally necessary to provide trustless verifiability, it created many issues around surveillance, non-consenting data access, and, ultimately, an infringement on user safety and security when performing actions on-chain. Fortunately, Manta Network’s implementation of zero-knowledge proofs enables the same on-chain trustless verifiability without the necessity of full on-chain transparency.
