Manta Network Launches zkPioneers Series with Linea

Manta Network is proud to support Linea in providing on-chain private soul-bound tokens (zkSBTs) for private user identity. This offers users a decentralized, trustless, and private way to verify their real identities without compromising any information or data leakage about their on-chain activity. The first new zkSBTs, the Linea Bridge Week zkPioneer and the Linea NFT Week zkPioneer, are launching this week through Manta Network’s NPO, and will be available for anyone who has completed the Linea Voyage — Bridge Week campaign on Galxe or Linea Voyage — NFT Week campaign on Galxe. Users are able to mint the Bridge Week zkSBT starting today to prove they have participated in the campaigns without revealing any of their on-chain wallet information. The NFT Week zkSBT will be available to mint on May 25th.

The Linea zkPioneer enables any Web2 or Web3 applications (mobile or desktop) to verify users’ on-chain data and off-chain data without the need to connect a wallet. Using the zkPioneer, applications inside and outside the CyberConnect ecosystem can identify real users with real on-chain activities. Furthermore, it allows users to interact with Manta ecosystem projects with privacy, and your long-time-built valuable identity without disclosing your wallet address. Manta’s ecosystem projects enables a key Manta-based innovation, the Proof Key, to allow Manta’s zkSBT verification to be integrated in any web3 or web3 applications (mobile or desktop).

The Existing On-Chain Identity Problem

With the current state of public blockchains, every on-chain action is recorded, immutable, and fully transparent. While this transparency was originally necessary to provide trustless verifiability, it created many issues around surveillance, non-consenting data access, and, ultimately, an infringement on user safety and security when performing actions on-chain. Fortunately, Manta Network’s implementation of zero-knowledge proofs enables the same on-chain trustless verifiability without the necessity of full on-chain transparency. As a result, users are able to benefit from a seamless, modular privacy experience.

Manta Network’s research into zero-knowledge proof circuits has been implemented into one of its flagship platforms, the NPO, allowing users to mint zkSBTs. zkSBTs are on-chain, verifiable credentials that offer a trustless layer of privacy. Combined with proof keys, users can verify their ownership of zkSBTs without even connecting a wallet, enabling a seamless and modular privacy experience when interacting with applications.

Qualifying & Minting your Linea zkSBTs

To qualify for the Linea Bridge Week zkPioneer, make sure that you have completed the Linea Voyage — Bridge Week campaign on Galxe first. Similarly, for the Linea NFT Week zkPioneer (available on May 25), make sure you have completed the Linea Voyage — NFT Week campaign on Galxe. You can mint the corresponding zkSBT once you have completed the tasks. To mint your Linea zkSBTs, simply follow the instructions for minting a zkSBT here.
